The project "Land Management, Environment and Solid Waste: Combining Education and Business in Central Asia" was launched at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
The ERASMUS+ "Capacity Building of Higher Education" (CBHE) program of the European Union makes a significant contribution to the republic's higher education system in studying and implementing the experience of leading higher education institutions of the EU countries, as well as in further expanding cooperation.
In particular, the project "LESLIE: Land Management, Environment and Solid Waste: Harmonization of Education and Business in Central Asia" selected within the framework of this program, which started this year, is of urgent importance for our country in the quality training of engineers in these fields.
The project consortium consists of a total of 14 partner organizations from 3 countries of the European Union (Spain, Italy, Cyprus) and 2 countries of Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan). According to the results of the project, it is planned to develop micro-training and educational courses on sustainable land management, to prepare a collection of online digital didactic materials, and to establish an experimental educational incubator. On February 26-29, the first meeting of project executors was organized at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain.
All partners of the LESLIE project (Cassino University from Italy, University of Cyprus, Fergana Polytechnic University from Uzbekistan, National Research University "TIQXMMI", Bukhara State University, International Agricultural University, Bukhara Institute of Natural Resources Management, Kazakhstan National University from Kazakhstan, Kokshetau University, Khoja Ahmad Yassavi University, Kazakh-Turkish University, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan participated.
The event first started with the official opening ceremony of the project and the rector of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, José E. Capilla Romá, welcomed all the participants.
During the events, practical actions to achieve the goals set according to the project plan were discussed and relevant instructions were given by the project coordinator Professor Javier Rodrigo-Ilarri. Officials of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Abdusamad Mamanazarov and Ulugbek Khodiyev participated in the event and gave relevant suggestions and recommendations regarding the project.
Associate Professor of the Department of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre, Dr. Khakimova Kamolakhan Rakhimjonovna and Professor of the Department of Economics Yunusov Alisher Rozimatovich attended the meeting and made a presentation about the Fergana Polytechnic Institute to the project partners.
